Finland Travel: Visiting Helsinki for the Very First Time

Finland Travel: Visiting Helsinki for the Very
First Time
I am running with a three-hour jet-lagged sleep
right now, because my flight from NYC to HK to SG happened 24 hours ago. So
please, tolerate me to ramble a bit before I get to the main course! :-) Yes, I still love long flights, and I don’t
know if this appreciation is just a repeatable life chapter, or if there’s more
to butt cramps and long stiff neck inducing movie marathons that make 12-15
hour trips so appealing… but there is something rather peaceful about long
flights that allow you to clear your head and grant you new ideas to push through.
While everyone is fast asleep, the only sound you can hear are the engines
buzzing and your ideas churning. It’s pretty astonishing!

While I would like to go on and on and argue
about the beauty of intercontinental flights, I am no flight steward, pilot, or
scientist, to give concrete and relevant reasons that’ll make you consider this as something you need to do
if you want to generate newfound ideas or gain some perspective about life
#deep So instead, without further protest, allow me to share some new series
here about one of the nicer and more peaceful Nordic countries I have visited: Finland.

Bordered by Sweden on the northwest,
Norway to the north, Russia to the east, and Estonia to the south of the country
across the Gulf of Finland, this Nordic country situated in the geographical
region of Fennoscandia is truly a symphony of extremes. I was pretty excited to
meet Santa Claus, explore some wild nature, and enjoy some Finnish activities. True enough, the anticipation and reality
of it are so meshed together, it was an overall beautiful experience!
Helsinki, the capital of Finland, is this laid-back vibrant seaside city full of history and culture, and what better way to celebrate its idyllic compact city than to easily explore it on foot. Its snowy atmosphere didn’t stop Helsinki from showcasing its design, architecture, and shopping angles for us to feel wow-ed by it. Needless to say, there’s more to it than meets the eye, and you better join me to see the rest of what’s in store for you, should you plan to visit Helsinki and the rest of Finland. Now the proverbial question is, will the cold bother you anyway?
