Wat Traimit in Bangkok, Thailand: The Most Golden Temple To See At The Tip of Chinatown
Wat Traimit in Bangkok
The Temple of the Golden Buddha in Bangkok, Thailand is difficult to
find, to be honest. I ended up stumbling upon a Thai temple for burial purposes
before arriving to this place, and you can just imagine the horror expressions
of people when they saw me taking pictures of the “temples”, which were
actually burial places. True story.
Wat Traimit is
located at the very tip of Chinatown's Yaowarat Road, near Hualampong Railway
Station. But when you find it, you’re in for a treat – it houses the world's
largest massive gold seated Buddha. Every Buddha in Thailand will have some
hints of gold or be all out gold like this one; it’s truly a mighty
sight-for-surprise kind of experience.
Since there were
no scared stares when I took photos of the place, I knew this was the one. The Wat
Traimit is one of those temples that would remind you why it is important to
habitually go to temples. It looks very timely and “daily”. Nothing too over
the top, and nothing too low key. Check these out, in case you’d like to try
and experience a less popular, less populated temple in Bangkok.

Although traditional celebrations are still observed in many parts of the country, more typically, these days, the New Year is welcomed by wildly enthusiastic water fights where locals and visitors alike roam the streets armed with water guns and buckets of water, that are often mixed with ice and mentholated talcum powder, to drench passers by. http://eliburan.com/bangkok-grand-palaces-wat-phra-kaeo/ Representing the Khmer style of architecture, it has four minor towers symbolising terrestrial representation of thirty-three heavens.
