Svatopluk Čech Bridge: Czech Republic’s Only Art Nouveau Style Bridge
Svatopluk Čech Bridge, Prague
Svatopluk Čech Bridge is one of the bridges in Czech Republic that offers a visually paralyzing view of the beauty that is Prague. The Čech Bridge is a one of the shortest arch bridges in Prague, which crosses over river Vltava, connecting Prague districts Holešovice and the Old Town (Staré Město). It may be the shortest, but it has one of the most spectacular sunset views you can find on a bridge.
It’s the only bridge in Czech Republic that has an Art Nouveau style. The view from here is unbelievable. This is the time in Prague when we got lost and we decided to walk across the bridge looking for people who could understand “Asian-English”. We wanted to ask for directions, but in Prague, it tends to be a bit tricky.
When we crossed the bridge, I noticed that there are dominating bronze figures of for Victorias, Goddess of victory, two and two on each and of the bridge. The figures’ shadows are reflecting from the river bed and it’s just unbelievable! You just have to check it out for yourselves!
