Amalienborg Palace: Shivering Around Copenhagen’s Royal Palace Grounds

Amalienborg Palace
It felt like winter
was not coming to a complete end when we reached Copenhagen’s Amalienborg Palace. Though there
were no snow and rain leftovers, the 0 degree weather reminded us that we
shouldn’t be that out and around the area. But who could resist checking out
the winter home of the Danish royal family, with its four identical classical
palace façades with rococo interiors around an octagonal courtyard. In the center
of it all, there’s this monumental equestrian statue of Amalienborg's founder, King Frederick V. Trust me, we were shivering while walking
around. #AsianLogic haha!

There are different
royal palaces around the world, be it in Buckingham, or be it in Beijing; the Amalienborg
Palace in Copenhagen is one of the few that
I like, because it connects three other regal landmarks that are worthy of note
too: the Frederik's Church known as The Marble Church, Amalienborg, and the Copenhagen Opera House. Plus, worth mentioning if you visit the place is that it’s very near the Amaliehaven, which is a two-level garden that features marble sculptures and a central fountain. It’s also near the pier where you can see this harbor backdrop where you can hangout. This is where we got the chance to sit around and chill out… which was quite literally. Yes, still shivering!

The cold weather
didn’t quite obstruct my liking for taking pictures around this area. It’s like
walking around the pages of a fictional storybook. Not so ostentatious, yet
stately enough to make you imagine the good (royal) olden times. Which royal palace grounds have you enjoyed visiting? I think this one should be included in your list.
