Castell Coch in Wales: A Real Life Fairy Tale Castle You Need To See

Castell Coch in Wales: A Real Life Fairy Tale Castle You Need To See
Also known as the Red
Castle, the Castell Coch looks like it’s
torn out from a chapter of CW’s TV series. Even with its loooong wordy history,
it looks magnetic. Vivid Victorian inspired,
as you can see in the photos. Makes you wonder how and why did the people
during the middle ages chose to live in a fairytale castle. According to the
Welsh locals, this is the inspiration for a Disney movie castle, and I’m pretty
sure Walt is happy about it, yes?

This 19th-century
Gothic Revival Castle is built above a small village of Tongwynlais, which is in South
Wales. The interiors are elaborately decorated, with specially designed
furniture and fittings; the designs include extensive use of symbolism drawing
on classical and legendary themes.

The castle has
three distinct circular towers that are not only fascinating, these towers are
as old as history. The Keep, the Kitchen Tower and the Well Tower, along with
the Hall Block, the Gatehouse and a shell wall with motte and beech woods
everywhere. No wonder this place is popular for holding events such as
halloween and even weddings. Would you want to have a real life fairy tale wedding in a fairy tale castle such as this one?
