Walking In and Around London, England
Walking In and Around London, England
Anyone who’s going to London should plan a walking route around the city. Yes, finally – long walks, busy streets - my kind of city travel. For the longest time all along I thought to myself that for a mature city, such as London, walking would almost be unheard of because the transportations are ever-present and trouble-free. I said to myself that London should be enjoyed like a local, through tube rides and red buses.

But, glad to acknowledge that I’m wrong about it and that there’s something right that came out from my err – London and Londoners both seem to prefer hanging around with lots of people, and walking round-and-about the city is the compulsory cultural experience to embark on. If there’s such a job as a Route Planner, wouldn’t mind trying it out if it means I could walk around different sights, bridges, best kept secrets. And, even plan different directions and interesting travel routes within this city. Yes, part time job! (yes, corporate life can lead to delusions too? Exhibit A: this guy)

Folks chilling in the park, reading a book, all slow paced and all. It’s rare to see people just texting and looking at their mobile phones all day. Here, noticed that the walking distances from one tourist attraction to one best kept secret are a few stones’ throw away. Everyone’s an expert walker, be it old folks, corporate achievers, international students, and big groups. There are all kinds of people – I say it’s one of the most authentic multicultural cities I have encountered so far, and that everyone’s in unison when it comes to enjoying the city through long walks and wanders.
But hey before I get you lost in the increasing eyesore of pictures here, which I took when I did my daily rounds of walking around London, I’d say you should download some of the best apps for walking around London if you can. Google maps maybe, but there are more than a few android/apple apps that are worth checking out! It’ll be easier to roam around and enjoy the whole London walk. Just be sure to have your good shoes for walking around London.
