Four New Cafes in Manila To Watch Out For This Year
The Coffee Revolution In The Philippines Is Finally Open
The grass is always greener on the other
side, No here’s the thing, wow Manila, why you so evergreen? Manila, Philippines is no longer an underdog and a third world country in
so many aspects, if you ask me. There certainly are so many things to be
proud of, to be happy of, and to be thankful for about this more-fun country.
Third
wave coffee shops, yes. Ever since I moved here in Singapore a couple
of years ago, I gradually discovered that cafes, coffee shops, and coffee
drinking are processes that build character and culture right before your very
nicotine-filled taste buds. It’s a different “travel” experience, and it’s an
awakening one. Here in Singapore, the multiculturalism and fast forward go
getter type of culture is pretty evident in the speed and agility of the fast
rising third wave coffee shops running the city. It’s exciting! Now,
Manila baby is growing up so fast. A couple of months ago, I was back home,
and I see quite a few cafes that are very characteristic and pleasurable, if I
didn’t know better I’d think I was in a foreign place with good quality coffee
place right before me. Now, it’s even more different. The third wave cafes in the Philippines,
particularly in Manila, are in profusion and I can’t help but wonder what has
gotten into Manila? Why so fast forward go getter type? Why the faith and
goodness of humanity? Why so much plus points? I see the culture breed on its
own in these very cafes, nearly similar to how it is in Seoul and it’s soooo freakin
awesome! Yes, finally.
Here are some of the cafes I’ve
purposefully chanced upon in my Manila holiday visit. I hope you can find time
to check them out before they get too crowded. These are very Filipino yet very
contemporary and culture-friendly places too #puso #labanpinas
