Top Deck Singapore, Upper Thomson Road
Upp Thomson Rd may seem overwhelmed with cool breeds of
coffee shops, dessert stores, restaurants, and music schools, but this
doesn’t stop it from inviting new kids on the block. The Top Deck Singapore, which opened just this December 2014, is a spaciously modish multipurpose event place. Being all original, it can transform into this hipster-like
café, hangout hideout, event space, study area, meeting place, reunion venue,
solo room – anything goes ‘cos it’s a nice newfound place you’d like to find
yourself at.
If you know the legendary Habitat Coffee,
you’ll easily find this one. Located right above the Habitat Coffee, with the
big TOP DECK letters embroidered in its glass entrance door. It’s about ten to
fifteen minutes of walking from the nearest MRT (Marymount), and there’s also a bus stop (53041) right outside it. Good
thing about the top deck spot is that since it’s a big block of large open
space, you can easily find an area to chill and meet anytime of the day.
Once you reach the last few steps of the Top Deck, you’ll be
welcomed by this ceiling to floor glass encased coffee corner, and a few
baristas/business owners eager to share about the concept floor. One coffee
choice, plus all access to the whole floor – pick a spot, whatever you like,
wherever you prefer - until the end of time, or when the day ends, whichever
comes first.
Modern minimalist, blanket white walls, panorama balcony-like city view, plus habitat coffee choices, ahh the good Singapore nonchalant everyday life. The Top Deck Singapore is an attractive concept, especially for people who’d like to focus on coffee and the multipurpose things that they would just like to do. Recommended for: big groups, small ones, meetings, interviews, gatherings, and just all around multipurpose casualness. #topdesksg
