Mr. Punch Rooftop Bar, Bugis
Mr. Punch Rooftop Bar - Mint - Museum of Toys, Bugis
A
little dinky and hidden up an airlift of elevator space, this rooftop bar
around the central area is like going back in childhood throwback spell.
Mr. Punch Rooftop Bar, just at the apex of
the Mint Museum of Toys building in Bugis, has this clearly
charming mood of a 1980s-2000s hangout place, complete with vintage displays
and wooden exteriors. Not that this place is too quaint by any stretch – their
beers, cocktails, and food menu sees to it that the tone stays the right punch
for its visitors. A night out that’s elevated above city
crowd, this is the night out bar place for you.
Mr.
Punch Rooftop Bar is just at the top of the Mint Museum of Toys, which is at 26 Seah Street. It’s right next to the Raffles Hotel and Bras
Brash Complex, and about 15 minutes’ walk from City Hall or Bugis MRT station. You
could easily spot two logos of the Mint Museum of Toys and Mr Punch Restaurant
& Winebar at the main entrance. The
best time to visit is just a little before seven in the evening, happy hour is
still on and you get good seats near the bar counter!
The
last thing that you’d like to discover during a weeknight 1 bottle escapade is
a busy bar with no seat left for you. You’d probably like to punch the owner in
the face for not saving a space for you. Luckily, Mr. Punch always has space.
And a good one, as a fact. Rooftop view, but not too high, compact bar place,
but not too intimately small. Crowd is big, but not too congested –
it’s the perfect rescue to a day’s work.
It’s not all history, and toys and vintage memorabilia you can find in this building after all. Mr. Punch Rooftop Bar in Bugis is a lungful of fresh air. Food for the weeknight soul. A sweet escape. And if you’re feeling lucky tonight, you just might see it as empty as this one – bring some life to it, will you?
