How to Get More Likes and Features on Instagram Like a Pro

Want to Have More Likes in Your IG Posts?
In
today’s generation of online presence and ever smarter devices, instantly
sharing photos and memories to the world has become the norm.
And
Instagram, the most popular app to
“share a square” whether it is an
epic party photo or an iconic landmark encapsulated in this media site, it has
so far dominated the photo sharing scene.
For
those wanting to tap into Instagram’s beautifully creative and quirky world,
here are a few tips to expand your presence and get more likes.
1. For starters, Instagram has their
own built-in filters and photo editing tools with a wide range of capabilities
from tweaking the saturation to applying vignettes, it can be on its own a
strong all-in-one photo editing software. But
for enthusiasts, third party editing tools such as Snapseed can
add more flair and turn your photo into a masterpiece!

Snapseed’s minimalist interface can
be intimidating at first but is very useful for those who want to add in to
Instagram’s own editing tools
2. Find an iconic landmark and show it in a unique way. In Singapore,
one of the most recognizable landmarks is the Marina
Bay Sands hotel and casino, a sprawling complex of restaurants,
retail shops and a beautiful architecture mimicking the ships that make
Singapore one of the largest maritime hubs in Asia. In the picture below, I
have lined up the tower with the light from the sunset, beaming down
beautifully into the bay below. Sunrises and sunsets are often the best times
to get dramatic lighting, so make sure to wake up early or if not, catch the
afternoon sun before it gets too dark!
3. Join relevant photo hubs and use their hashtags for your pictures. Since I am currently residing in
Singapore, I decided to do a quick search of local photo hubs such as Explore Singapore. They
usually search for photos tagged with #exploresingapore
and feature you if your photo catches their eye! The photo hubs also open you
up for more interaction with local Instagrammers who share your passion and may
even get you an invite to their photo walks!
4. Use tagging applications such as Tags4Likes. In Instagram, hashtags are a way to
let your photo be recognized across the entire community and is usually broken
down into several categories such as the ever popular #selfie, elusive #nature
shots, beautiful #travel sceneries and of course who can go for a week without
a #party! Below is a snapshot of how Tags4Likes work, with its own “Most
Popular” hashtags category which means that those are the most used hashtags
and “Nature” category for those wanting a touch of mother nature in their
photos!

5. Join Instagram’s own Weekend Hashtag
Project. Every
week, Instagram’s own account, @instagram launches their own version of a
creative contest for all active Instagrammers, often featuring unique ideas for
photos to share in Instagram. For this weekend, they chose to feature small shops
and artisanal establishments, with a goal of featuring how each shop is
contributing to the culture and identity of a place. It also promotes local
businesses too!
