Why This IS Right The First Time: Bauddhanath, Kathmandu
Whenever I think of Nepal,
what’s the first thing that comes to mind? Everest? Nepalese? Adventure? Yeah
maybe those things… but in my mind, it looks a lot like the Bauddhanath. You know the feeling of knowing something even if you haven’t seen or known it
yet? Yes, this is THAT place for me. I don’t know but the Bauddhanath is how
imagined Nepal to be.

The Bauddhanath is a lot of things on paper. It’s a
Stupa in Kathmandu, Nepal. It’s known as the Khāsti. It’s known as one of
the largest stupas in Nepal, and in fact one of the largest in the world. And yes, Boudhanath is a UNESCO World Heritage Site too. On
paper, it is what it is: so impressive. Wait till you see it live – it’s even
more impressive.

This is my NOT TO BE MISSED place when visiting Kathmandu, because it has all the right elements that keeps me in favor – coffee AND culture. They read my mind right! So much local cafes and good coffees here in this area, and the humble yet exciting culture that’s fluttering from every corner is quite overwhelming to take in one sitting.

There’s so much to do here, touristy and off-beaten like. Good souvenirs are everyone, unique local fares and classes are widespread. Plus points for Bauddhanath for giving people the chance to have good local coffee in their rooftop cafes, with a Bauddhanath panoramic scene and Kathmandu Valley as its backdrop.
