Why Come to Patan Durbar Square, Lalitpur: The TRUE City of Beauty

Why Come
to Patan Durbar Square, Lalitpur: The City of Beauty
Sure whenever you travel, you’ve seen the trend.
Most of the itineraries, whether you’re more on the popular tourist sites or
the off beaten cool paths, it always include some sort of UNESCO World HeritageSites at least once.
I sure include them at least uh, always.
I sure include them at least uh, always.

What’s it all about? Why is it so important? Why is it worth the visit?
If you are into old school masterpiece like I am, then heritage is the thing for you.
I sure don’t know the whole history of this one, but having experienced quite a few UNESCO picks makes me pretend I’m an expert! LOL. Just like when you like a band, or a song, or a food, you just “know” them inside out, even if you don’t really know-know them. There’s no denying that UNESCO World Heritage Sites are just absolutely mind-blowing.

So in Kathmandu, what to include? Yes, Patan DurbarSquare, because it’s a UNESCO World Heritage Site that’s ABSOLUTELY MIND-BLOWING. Like the Great Wall of China level. Or the Stonehenge in the UK. Or the Kremlin in Russia. (Btw, I’m just assuming they are all UNESCO approved. Don’t quote me on this.)

Patan Durbar Square highlights so much speechlessness that can only be found in these heritage sites. It’s all about NEWA Architecture, which sounds so avatar and so cool. And I don’t know what it’s all about, but just seeing it makes me appreciate it so much. It’s all about temples, and palaces, and 1600s ancient structures. It’s about the center of the Lalitpur city, which sounds so avatar and so cool, again.

This is me being tourist-friendly. Literally. Lol.
Cute Chinese ladies love to ask me to take their pictures, talking to me in Mandarin. I look Chinese, yes? :-)

Roaming around this area makes you feel that you’ve stepped back in a forgotten time yet everything else makes it seem unforgotten. The pigeons, the locals, the surroundings look so extraordinary, it makes you play an imaginary orchestra tune in your head.
