Revisiting Manila: These Filipino Cafes Prove The Philippines Has What?

I kept on revisiting Manila for less than 24 hours in the past few months, and I am a bit surprised by the amount of nice hang-out cafes in the metro. #Philippines is certainly catching up on the café culture thing that’s spreading like wildfire here in Singapore, South Korea, Japan, and the rest of Asia. There’s still a long way to go for the third waves coffee shops, artisans, and all these themed coffee places in the Phils. But I think there are a more than a few standouts that you need to know and need to visit A-S-A-P.

These Filipino Cafes Prove The Philippines Has What? Has great hope in the Philippines. These coffee shops are a testament to that! Here are four favorite good ones for you.

Magnum Opus Fine Coffee Gallery - Aguirre Ave, Parañaque

Trillion thumbs up to this guy for chasing his coffee dreams at a very young age, after all he has been through both in work and in life. I kind of know him personally, and I admire how much he’s handling all the big successes and promises that are continuously coming his way. Another trillion thumbs up because Magnum Opus’ coffee brews are poetic enough to be remembered on its own.

Luna Café - 32nd Street, Bonifacio Global City

For those folks looking for an up-to-par international quality kind of coffee and café, but still signature Filipino, this is definitely the one for you. Luna Cafe has all the right things that you would want in a coffee shop, even if you’re no expert – very likeable, very tasteful, very global Filipino.

Café Maxims - Resorts World Manila, Pasay City

Think commercial, think upscale – this is neither quaint, nor is it local-looking, but it has proven how much class and affluence Filipinos can do when it comes to building their coffee-café imagination. Presentation-wise, Café Maxims is the mothership of coffee ambiance royalty, so whoever said Filipinos are meager should probably go here and discuss this stereotype. Lol.

Ahhh one of the young ones out here in Manila, but it certainly is not lacking any attention from the café goers. How do you measure your coffee experience?” - yes, something like this kind of Yardstick. I went nuts and so high with caffeine bliss when I tried their Mocha, Deconstructed. Plus points ‘cos it’s the most spacious café around this city of the Metro.
