Your Next Easy City Escape Could Be Here: 1 Day in Kuala Lumpur
What to do when you are stuck with a one-day weekday holiday? You run out of bright ideas to see and do in Singapore! Wah
laio lor meh. Readers from here and in Malaysia: 24
hours in Kuala Lumpur is definitely
a good idea! (Sorry Malaysia, been to your city a couple too many, and I only
write about you a few). This may be the most overrated and underrated activity
to do for most Singaporeans, because they have been so accustomed to this for
so long, but not for non-locals and travelers. You should know that as a
traveler, traveling to a place is always new, even if you’ve been there
ten-trillion times!

In Europe
it’s so cheap to travel from one city to another, either via cross
country train rides, via bus, or via 1 hour plane ride. Here, kind of
the same. For less than 80 SGD, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia is a one-hour plane ride
away from Singapore. It’s 20 SGD lower if it’s via a 6-hour bus ride. And
there’s even nightrider train to get to this city. Convenient and easy, close
enough to Europe level.

Decided to meet our friends working in
Malaysia for some quick hangout. So quick, 24 to be exact! It’s nice and new to
explore the city by foot, with a new set of “local” eyes. Must try: Chinese
Temple Hopping, KL Window Shopping, Merdeka
Square Runs, and of course Halal food fest! Is it worth to spend 24 hours in Kuala Lumpur? Right. The pace of life here is much more relaxed and friendlier. Though there’s still some form of adventure that you can get from here, it’s relatively easy to roam around and explore off-beaten paths and popular ones all at the same time.
