Time to wake up and join in the festival here in the CAFÉ FEST: The World’s First Café Hopping 2 Day Event in Waterfront Promenade, Singapore. 12 of the very best of the best homegrown cafes in Singapore are opening its caffeinated doors to all coffee lovers and hipsters out here, eager to share, learn, and have fun with the budding café culture in Singapore. #cafefestsg

Been a café hopper in Singapore for quite some time, and I see that there’s an uncanny quirk and style in these Singaporean cafes compared to other cafes around Asia. From the choices of coffee, be it Arabica or Robusta, from the choices of roast, be it light or dark coffee roast, to style of brew, be it via espresso machine, hand-dripped, percolator or French press, Singapore has a lot of talent and passion to show their love for coffee. Now to see this in full throttle, in front of the scenic Marina Bay Skyline, with a crowd so diverse as its coffee culture, it’s definitely a world-class event to enjoy and appreciate.

From 10:00 AM – 8:00 PM (Sat Sep 6) and 10:00 AM  7:00 PM (Sun Sep 7) anyone can join in; admission is free of charge, and visitors who purchased café-hopping passes get some freebies and perks at the event. Instagram-worthy coffee art #latteart and pastry choices are on the loose. Musicals acts such as 53AMarc X HashyAfter Breeze, Daniel Oliver Choo, are also here.

Now a quick roundup review: the good, the can-be-improved, and the what’s next.

The GOOD: The event itself has been well thought of – the freebies are good, the local café participants are good and the festival prices are very good! You can quickly and factually say that you have café hopped to 12 different coffee places in a matter of minutes! #longqueue #cafehoppingatcafefest

The Can-Be-Improved: The event has set the bar high with expectations and hype from the crowd, and in some way, it has lived up to its cafe festival mantra. But, a lot can be improved from here: from venue space (hopefully bigger) down to the supply & demand (hopefully unlimited) of coffee from the cafes.

The What’s Next: There’s no way but up from here – maybe more homegrown cafes, more performers and baristas, more activities and event days, more freebies, more cafe fests. Because we sure won’t mind, won’t we? :) #cafehoppingsg

Kudos to the organizers for doing a great valiant effort to make this possible. Cheers to the sponsors who were generous enough to support this. Nice awesome crowd! And of course, special shout-out to the COFFEE BANDITS! To me, you guys are the highlight here! Lol.
