BREAKING NEWS: The World’s First CNN Café is in Seoul

The CNN Café in Seoul is a head turner. It is, after all, the first CNN café in the whole wide world. Wow, now that just made it as a headline in my head right now. CNN is brilliant for coming up with this first “coffice” concept: coffee-office offers customers free wi-fi, computers / printing services, features CNN content across different platforms, some live feed of the CNN International channel on a large screen, CNN newswires on a digital ticker and computer terminals featuring cnn.com and cnngo.com. I think I would rather work from here than work-from-home!

Being one of the best café culture countries in Asia, South Korea is lucky to have been granted the privilege to front-page the CNN Café in their home turf. A few steps away from the Jongno subway, the CNN café is at the near corner spot of the road. You can go here anytime, because it’s 24/7 and you can enjoy the crowd, even if it’s too crowded.

CNN is all about people. The CNN Café is all about people having a good time. The coffee shop in itself is very office like but at the same time, very relaxed and cozy. The food choices are cheaper than most cafes in Seoul. Must try: café’s cookies, carrot cake, and "Cocopa" -- tiny white chocolate truffles. Even more interesting: Meeting rooms are available for use for groups of seven or more customers and can be reserved in advance. Plus points: the friendliest baristas you’ll ever meet in Seoul. The CNN Café is all pluses for me. It’s one of the best places in Seoul for almost anything related to people-centric activities. From extroverted activities – studying, dating, meeting, planning, to some introverted escapade: alone time, people-watching, reading, chilling. It’s for young entrepreneurs who’d want a place to spark their inspirations. It’s for people who chase their firsts. It’s literally being in the center of the headlines without trying to grab too much attention.

Yes, you can use the internet free of charge. You have to ask for the wifi password at the counter area. :)

    Enjoy Seoul!
