Singapore Photo Essay: Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall
After years and years of seeing this iconic building, all pristine and passive, the Victoria Theatre and Victoria Concert Hall finally opens its doors to the public. It’s for everyone’s feasting and I’m sure all is excited to see what’s inside, just like me. #iRememberVictoria
Now a bit of Singapore history: yes Singapore is a relatively young country compared to the rest of Asia; but, to see how much they value and give utmost pride to the quality of history they have is remarkable – this theatre and concert hall is evidence to that. This structure dates way back 1919 and there’s much intertwined stories behind every pillar, and tower, and façade you see. The concert hall was once considered the venue with the best acoustics in the whole of Singapore, and is also Singapore's oldest performing arts venue.
Got a chance to see the place and check out the guided tours and free mini performances during that day and I think it’s worth coming back for pretty soon. This is definitely one of the places in Singapore every first timer in Singapore should include in their itineraries – agree?
