Hood Bar and Café at the Bugis+ Mall, Bugis

Inside Bugis+, one of the busiest Singapore malls you’ll ever find in this side of the city, you’ll find this hood full of talent-hooligans. Talent is overflowing here, ‘Live’ music sessions featuring top local musicians playing different genres like soft rock, radio alternatives, jazz and bossa nova. You’d just want to bust some notes and jam with them. Weekday night out will always be a blameless act when you hang out here at the Hood Bar and Café – see for yourself!

One of the easiest bars to get to, since it’s just inside the Bugis+ Mall, which is my self-appointed national mall of Singapore, given how much people visit this place every day! Once you reach the nearest MRT station, Bugis line, reaching the Hood Bar and Café is a good fifteen minutes of walking. The best time to go here is around 9:00 in the evening onwards, as that’s the time where all the local talents are all set and in progress with their song lists. Plus, this is the time when the energy of the bar is already up and running, and you can feel wide-awake by mere presence of everything.

Aside from local talent, the Hood Bar and Café is an absolute win considering the low prices they offer for their drinks. They offer 1 X 1 during Happy Hour and their house pours are a crowd favorite. This chill bar is ideal for big groups wanting to do some big comfortable but not too much kind of bar happening. The pleasant funky-hipster ambiance, combined with the live talent and good western food fares imprints a good impression to everyone who visits this place for the very first time – and would make anyone a regular hood guest after doing so.

Maybe Hard Rock Café is not the only first choice anymore, given that the Hood Bar and Café is here to stay. This evening hangout place is a good recommendation for all out ordinary and everyday chill sessions, dates, hipster gatherings, and yuppie catch up meet ups – see all the locals and some expats hanging out at this hood. See you next Friday night?
