Dulce and Sucre is one of those newest good finds inside the Orchard Gateway that you’ll be glad to know about. Thank you Daniel Ong and Jamie Teo, owners of the Singapore-famous Twelve Cupcakes, they have now introduced another new knockout – specific for café hoppers who’d prefer a contemporary approach to Gourmet Coffee, Artisan Teas, and Fluffies.
The Dulce and Sucre is by far, one of the easiest cafés to visit in Singapore because it’s just a few steps from the Somerset MRT Station. It’s right in front of the entrance on the side of Orchard Gateway and the big wooden pillars and spacious café seems to be calling people to have some coffee and dessert. The best time to go here is during daily mid-afternoons where going coffee breaks is the norm.
Visually, the place is quite similar to its mother ship – Twelve Cupcakes; the theme is almost identifiable, especially since they also sell the Twelve Cupcakes brand over here. What sets it apart though are the desserts that accompany the excellent coffee selections. You should try their whoopies, which will remind you of space ice cream. It has this impressive long-lingering sweet finish and you’ll want to dig-in and order more. Even the crowd here, mostly local yuppies and couples and big groupies would seem to agree as they order a lot of whoopies with their coffee drinks.
We all like anything sweet, but if it’s a kind of sweetness that’s just right – that’s even better, right? That’s what Dulce & Sucre is all about. Just like the success of Twelve Cupcakes, this café is on that direction, and it’s the kind of place that’s good for socializing and gathering in groups. It’s a feel good place with all the sweet café treats you look forward to.
