Like a Local: Rediscovering Athens by Foot

Like a Local: Rediscovering the Streets of Athens by Foot
Transitions. Phases. Revelations. There are always gripping and crippling
feelings that can be gained out of change. A change in status. A change in environment. A change in focus.
More often than not, change helps reveal our 5Ws. Our whos, whats, wheres,
whens and whys in life, depending on which part of the glass are we looking at:
the half full part, or the half empty one. But what if it’s a change in culture, city, and
circumstance.
Greece
has gone through some slow yet powerful overhaul over the years, and you can
see the effects of transitions in their everyday environment. Comparing the forgotten postcards about Athens
and hyped online images of the rest of Greece, versus the ones you can
actually see and discover with your own two eyes. There are changes; there are
new focus areas. But ultimately, it reveals how much Greece is living the life that
they want to. Their whos, whats, wheres, whens and whys are evident in how they
have preserved their culture, and how they manage their creative chaos. It’s
not all-dark and sunken economy, but it certainly is not all high end Europe either. What’s assuring is
that it’s one of those places that you’ll need to rediscover with your own two
eyes and two feet. It’s best experienced firsthand. A little too sympathetic here cos we end our Greece series for now. Though, I'm pretty
sure the next country is worth the wait! #VivaRoma
