93°C Bean & Leaf Café, Holland Village

93°C Bean & Leaf Café in Holland Village
Holland
Village is still a no brainer if
you’re looking for some coffee fix that’s neither too central (area) nor too
far off. The easiest smart choice, yes. Good thing is, Holland Village still
manages to attract and create newfound cafés that are worth being a fan of. Just
like the 93°C
Bean & Leaf Café, which is one of the most recent coffee
places around. You’ll be surprised by how fast it has managed to attract a
whole lot of café nuts in just a short amount of time, even if it’s just beside
the café legend, Coffee Bean and Tea
Leaf. The smartest cafe choice when in Holland Village, yes?

Everything that can be found within the bounds
of Holland Village is very convenient. Everything seems like a six minute walk
maximum if you’re coming from the Holland
Village MRT Station. It’s either that, or I just walk too fast. Lol. The
93°C Bean & Leaf Café is literally beside the Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf,
even closer if you’re coming from the MRT side, so it’s hard to miss it. You’ll
probably see a big lump of people standing in front of the café, waiting for
some seats to be emptied, because the place is always packed with people. Best
time to go here is during weekday afternoons, were your only competition for a
seat are students from the nearest universities around and a few expat moms
with their awesome babies hanging around the family-friendly café.

Just like Coffee Bean and Starbucks and every
other American café, the 93°C Bean
& Leaf Café is very commercial-looking. It’s far from being the hipster,
romantic, indie, homegrown type of café that most local café connoisseurs would
prefer, but that doesn’t mean it offers anything less. In fact, the place is
very reminiscent of a simple antiquated
garden, like a DIY garage garden, seeing all the gray-washed walls, simple
seats and cramped layout. This is good ‘cos everything about it looks laidback
and easy-going, which makes longer hours of chats and coffee sessions even more
preferred. The coffee plus food choices are something to anticipate too,
because they offer big servings and that are easy to appreciate.
Though it’s too commercial, it’s still no wonder a lot of people prefer this café. You’ll see a lot of soloists, couples, groupies, yuppies and families both Singaporeans and expats that would camp at this place for some good coffee and good quality time. The place, price, and people are just too comfortable to be with.
