The World Renowned Casa Batlló in Barcelona and How to Enjoy It
A lot of times we make presumptions instantly.
Like for instance, in the arts – architecture, buildings, paintings – when you
see one too many that looks the same, you just assume it’s like that for the
rest of the area. In Europe, just when you thought that everything’s like the
rest, something so unique and unconventional comes into play. That’s how Casa Batlló turns heads and topples guesses. This 1900’s house design by Antoni Gaudi has one of the most creative and playful house concepts you’ll ever see.
And to think that this has been designed so long ago is
a remarkable feat. The Casa Batlló is owned by the Batlló family
who wanted a house that was like no other and that stood out as being audacious
and artistic. True enough, they got way more than they bargained for; now, their
house is a household name across Barcelona – known as the House of Bones, given
how much organic design quality it has. It's like it has a life of its own. To enjoy this world renowned casa, you
must look at it with an inquisitive eye.
Start down the important favorites, the façade
and the floor designs. Both are integrated together in such a way that it tells
a story thru multi-colored lines and shapes. Listen to your first impressions
when you see the area; listen to the audio guides to get a better grasp on things. What’s even more amazing is to learn that
these things, along with the other details are not just for display, but are also
for functionality. Each plays a part to function as a normal house, despite how
cool it looks.
Once you reach the rooftop area, just
throw away everything else under the roof, and rivet your senses to the famous
dragon’s back design – an animal spine looking concept using tiles of color
combinations. If you have a house as good as this, then by all means, please
invite me for breakfast, lunch, dinner, vacation even – you must really enjoy being a home buddy.
