Fast Food for Thought in Bras Basah - Cafe with a Cause

The Bras Basah area is quite popular because of the good spots within the area: Singapore National Museum, Chijmes, and Singapore Management University. True, every turn is another travel highlight. But amid this flourishing district, there is this contemporary and philanthropic resto-café that’s another good addition to anyone’s itinerary when visiting the area: Fast Food for Thought.

It’s along the Queen Street, directly in front of the Singapore Art Museum. It’s literally less than one hundred steps, once you step out of the Bras Basah exit outside the station. From the outside, it looks a little like a retail store because of all the chairs and stuffs beside the café, but be sure to check out its flipside version inside the café.

Previously known as Food For Thought, this resto-café (which I coin simply because there are so many people here, who just chill and order drinks and a little food maybe) went through a revamp and serves up a new menu and a new atmosphere. The menu is mostly about heavy brunch food, which basically translates to burgers: Slow-Roasted Pulled Pork, Lemon-Dill Fish Fingers, Thai Chilli Chicken, Beef Patty Cheese Melt, and Slow-Roasted Rosemary Lamb. The atmosphere is mostly about space and comfort, giving people enough leg space to chill and enjoy the area.

They don’t charge for service & GST, which is one good thing about this place, because definitely, the price paid is less compared to the quality and quantity of food. Also, the Fast Food for Thought is one of the few places here in Singapore that’s not shy to admit that they support something for a cause. There’s an area in the store where you can purchase good quality artsy items; proceeds will go as a donation to the philanthropic causes they support. Food for thought and food for the soul? Definitely, resto-café experience worth trying.

Address: 8 Queen Street, S188535
