Hifumi Japanese Restaurant - All-You-Can-Eat-Appetizer Bar

To all the Filipinos out there, this restaurant will sound interesting for all the right, and maybe wrong, reasons. Again, Hifumi. Okay, got it. Good. Lol. In any case, if you are a fan of authentic Japanese food, this restaurant will touch your body and soul for all the right reasons – the buffet style food here is just definitely one of the best out there.

From the Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station, the Plaza Singapura Mall is just a few escalator rides up. The Hifumi Japanese Restaurant is at the new extension part of the mall, which can easily be spotted due to the long queue at its entrance area. It’s along the open central area of the top most floor.

You’ll notice the well-lit spacious area of the place, which generally gives the socio-friendly atmosphere. The overall exterior design is purely cream-colored with Japanese inspired wooden walls. The tables and chairs are plain yet inviting. The highlight of course, is the Appetizer Bar, with constantly overflowing authentic Japanese food. From Mentaiko and Ham Macaroni Salad, Pumpkin Salad and Walnuts, to Brocolli and Dried Beancurd with Fish Broth, the area is well packed with good food. It even comes with a Japanese translation too.

The most favorite thing about this place is the price versus quality ratio. The price is not as steep as one would expect considering the quality and amount of food being served. The Tonkatsu set alone is good for two people, because of the appetizer buffet. Plus, for less than 2 SGD, you can easily upgrade to a full unlimited drinks from tea, to coffee, and soft drinks. Definitely a place recommended for everyone - Kanpai!
