It’s a good seven-minute walk from the Toa Payoh MRT station. Once you alight the station, just walk right towards the Fairprice area. Take the escalator beside it going up, then look for the nearest corner milk tea store. Once there, turn right and you’ll see it already. It’s difficult not to, because the Yellow Submarines is wide and alive. It pops out of the busy scene, all yellow and cheese.

The place is a good alternative to do long study sessions, compared to coffee shops or libraries. They have the friendliest bunch of Singaporean staff you’ll ever meet. They offer sandwich recommendations up to the very littlest detail and they’ll allow you to just chill and enjoy their land-living submarine spot.
It’s truly love at first bite. This sandwich joint stirs away from the sandwich stereotypes we have. They have their own way of making you truly appreciate bread and cheese without making it too complicated. Their answer: Philadelphia Cheesesteaks. And not to fret, because they have other options such as tuna, chicken and mushroom sandwiches. Plus, they offer coffee and cheesecakes. This turns as a favorite because it’s a good place for almost anything blissful – good for group meet-ups, casual first dates, study sessions, relaxed family siestas, and maybe even solo eat out craving. This flagship food corner is new, but is an instant success for all the right reasons.
