Brunei Empire Hotel - A Cultural Landmark
Brunei Empire Hotel - A Cultural Landmark
It’s probably because of some architectural masterpiece shortage in
the metropolis that we decided to go and search for some more. You know how I
yap about the grandest of mosques here in this country, but other than that,
there’s bound to be some other architectural highlight, right? The
Empire Hotel is one of them.
It was almost midday when we took a
local bus to this spot. This was highly recommended as a breath of fresh air by
local who sat beside us in one of the restaurants we tried out. His eyes were
wide open and so eager to describe every bit of detail about this place.
Surely, we had to go and see.
Far from the relaxed hustle and
bustle of the city, there’s a vast
entrance area before you reach the actual entrance of this hotel. It’s worth the hassle. The pompous
entrance says it all. It’s like you’re entering into a movie scene where casinos
and babes are the norm; except in this scene, casinos are exchanged with golden-painted linings and babes are
exchanged with outstanding hotel
courtesy.
From lavish accommodation, to fancy
dining to extravagant golfing area,
you certainly won’t go wrong with the Empire. It is and has been recognized as
one of the best in Asia Pacific. Having owned several prestigious awards as
being the Best Golf Resort for several years, it rightfully is a place to be
at.
You don’t even have to pay for these things to enjoy this place. Being a fan of structure and free things, I’d go for the overall architecture of this place. It’s interesting to see how the Brunei culture has been infused in details like door knobs, ceilings, and wall art. They even have local art galleries being featured in some of the areas of the hotel. The outside area is also an ogle feast as the vastness of space and friendliness of the atmosphere are just too good to look at. You may actually learn a thing or two about the Brunei culture through this Empire.
