Oriole Cafe and Bar in Somerset
Oriole Café and Bar is a high end all-day casual dining place offering extensive quality coffee and cocktail selections. The idea of Oriole is essentially Modern Europe meets Global Comfort Food, and the owner is actually a coffee connoisseur, who won the Singapore National Barista Championships twice.
Aside from the espresso blends and seasonal drinks, this café-cum-bar is an attractive hangout place. You’ll see impressive brass chandeliers, leather-upholstered booth seats, and a long marble-top bar counter. The place is neither too crowded nor too empty – just the right venue for Saturday first dates, Sunday brunch with the family or even Friday solo book reading stint.
My coffee pick: Citrus Sin. For 6 SGD, you’ll have a full taste of Double Ristretto, Spiced Orange Juice, Steamed Milk. Although it’s a little pricey considering that it’s just a small cup, the quirky taste of tangerine mixed with the kick of coffee is fascinating. The consistency of coffee and the aftershock of spiced orange will keep you all stirred up and ready to be engaged on your next hangout coffee session.
