Shopping
in Tokyo: Your Five Quick and Easy Shopaholic Go-to Places
It’s not always food trips, Mt. Fuji, and
Samurai experiences in Japan. A lot of times, especially
if you are really into enjoying the local culture in Japan,
it’s about shopping spree. No excuses, no limits, just pure bliss when it comes
to finding cool stuff, fun stuff, and amazing treats that can only be found in Japan.
Even if there aren’t any English translations in the products, and even if you
don’t need a certain item, for as long as you have that gut-level feeling that
you want to purchase it, why not – Japan is known to a lot of us
to being a place of quality and excellence, when it comes to their products –
and these places over here are where you’ll find the good product finds,
especially if you’re visiting Japan for one of your travels.
Prepare your credit cards and now it’s time to do a bit of non-window shopping.

Daiso
Daiso is one of Japan’s 100-yen shop brands,
known for offering a massive variety of unique and quirky products. Almost
everything can be bought for a mere 100 yen (that’s less than a dollar!), with
only a few exceptions. Daiso’s selection boasts an astounding 70,000 different
items! Here, you’ll find everything you need to enhance and fancy up your daily
life. Browsing the colorful aisles is surprisingly fun, as you’ll stumble upon
all kinds of little treasures you never knew you wanted! One of Daiso’s biggest
draws is that despite the low price, all of its goodies are of astoundingly
high quality. Read more:

Ginza
With its procession of fancy designer stores
and luxury kimono dealers, Ginza has always upheld its reputation as the ritzy
shopping district of Tokyo. But look beyond the gilded shops and you’ll also
find some of the city’s best restaurants and cocktail bars (though many of them
feature prices as high as the neighbourhood’s skyscrapers). While most people
visit the area during the day, there’s certainly a lot you can do in Ginza at
night, when the shops have closed and the tour bus crowds have left. Read more:

company “Fast Retailing” which also owns the famous clothing brand UNIQLO.
While UNIQLO targets men and women of all ages with its simple and quality

Akihabara
Akihabara (秋葉原), also called Akiba after a former local shrine, is a
district in central Tokyo that is famous for its many electronics shops. In
more recent years, Akihabara has gained recognition as the center of Japan's
otaku (diehard fan) culture, and many shops and establishments devoted to anime
and manga are now dispersed among the electronic stores in the district. On
Sundays, Chuo Dori, the main street through the district, is closed to car
traffic from 13:00 to 18:00 (until 17:00 from October through March). Read more:
