4 Far from Unfamiliar Places to Surely Visit in Riga, Latvia

Absorbing, intriguing, fascinating, stimulating, gripping, riveting, compelling, arresting, entrancing, engaging, entertaining, exciting, engrossing, provocative, thought-provoking, pleasing, pleasurable, enjoyable, satisfying, readable, stirring, enthralling, spellbinding, affecting, alluring, exotic, unusual – so apparently, these, my friends, are the other words that you can substitute for the word: INTERESTING. I was kind of in the middle of finding better words to describe these places in Riga, Latvia, but truth is, the places are more than interesting but not on a completely outstanding level. It's a bit of a gray area, like the term: ABOVE AVERAGE. Even so, I believe that these notable and far from unusual places are worth the experience, especially if it is your first time in Riga, Latvia.

And yes, why not I throw it out there and mention to you that Latvia’s capital is considerably inexpensive compared to neighboring European countries, so you are sure to get some serious value for your money. If you find things to do in the city of Riga, especially if you swing by the Old Town, after spending some time hanging out in cafes, bars, or restaurants, you can opt to visit these places without having to splurge on those fancy tours outside the city center. Riga Cat House

Sometimes called Black Cat House or Riga Cat House, this building has become the unofficial symbol of Riga. The house itself dates from 1909 (architect: Friedrich Scheffel) and is a mixture of styles, most notably its medieval twin turrets, on which the cats are perched, and its elaborate Art Nouveau portal surrounding the main entrance. The Vanšu Bridge in Riga is a cable-stayed bridge that crosses the Daugava river in Riga, the capital of Latvia. Its name literally means Cable-stayed bridge and is also sometimes translated as Shroud Bridge. 595 meters in length, it is one of five bridges crossing the Daugava in Riga and passes over Ķīpsala island. It was built during the Soviet period and opened to public use on 21 July 1981 as the Gorky Bridge after Maxim Gorky street, today renamed Krišjānis Valdemārs street, which it extends across the river. The Freedom Monument in Riga
