Galaxy Pod Hostel in Reykjavik, Iceland
To add a surreally out of this world Iceland travel experience, you may want to consider making the Galaxy Pod Hostel in Reykjavik, Iceland your failsafe luxurious hostel accommodation.  Much like the Galaxy Pod Hostels you can find in Singapore, Japan or Hong Kong, the Galaxy Pod Hostel in Central Reykjavik offers a distinct kind of comfort and of futuristic space pods privacy that you have always wanted to try, but probably have not realized yet

Located at the Laugavegur 172, right at the heart of Central Reykjavik, the Galaxy Pod Hostel is a few steps away from banks, a discount supermarket, a grocery store, food halls and diners, bus stops, and just around 15 to 20 minutes of walking to reach the city center – talk about convenience at the northern most capital in the world.

The pods are so ultra modern and it feels as if you are about to take off and reach the Northern Lights right there and then! All the pods have their own lockers and safe, small televisions, and a considerable space inside the pod itself. It also comes with its own power plug, a curtain for your own privacy, a shelf, a mirror, a reading light, and a fan for air circulation – to name a few. You can either go for the 8-person dorm, 4-bed dorms with queen size pods, 6 people female dorm, 24-bed dormitory, or just the normal 4 bedroom dorm type rooms.

Facilities-wise, the reception area and lounge are very open and roomy, with an exceptional panoramic mountain view that is unlike any other. It’s a relaxing wide-screen vista that keeps your eyes so stress-free! It also has a big TV and serves as a movie room or a place where you would hang out and meet some new friends. It’s rather so easy to ask for directions and recommendations here too, considering the reception staff are overly cool and friendly!

You can book tours here, ask for City Cards, or lockers for your luggage, or maybe even some towels to borrow, and of course, the most important thing everyone needs: free WIFI. The self-service kitchen and bathroom areas are neutral and basic, nothing too extravagant that will scare you – all the bare necessities you’ll be able to find here.

The really good clincher here is the Stargate Arcade, which is a Virtual Reality Game place - with selections of different game categories, such as Action, Shooter, Horror, Sports, Exploration and Creative. You can opt to choose this activity, should you prefer to stay indoors. Otherwise, the diverse nightlife in Reykjavik is always a good idea, especially if you are staying at the Galaxy Pod Hostel, since it’s near to all the Icelandic bars worth hanging out in. Perhaps, you can visit the Lebowski Bar, Dillon Whiskey Bar, and Bar 11 to name a few.

Maybe, you can visit the Reykjavik Roasters, Kaffitar, and Kaffi Vinyl for your much-needed caffeine fix. A huge shout out to the awesome Hostel owner Sverrir Guðmundsson for making this first Pod hostel in Iceland a resounding success!
