Maya Cruise Tour: Here are Stunning Photos of Day 2 - Lan Ha Bay Luxury Cruise
After an extraordinary midnight
rooftop relaxation with my friends, in what felt like a parallel universe of
flickering cruise ship lights and quiet water cradlesongs, I awoke at 6:00 A.M.
the next day for some sundeck Tai Chi session with the group. It’s officially
Day 2 of the Maya Cruise Tour, the last
day of the Lan Ha Bay – Hanoi cruise. The Day 1 itinerary ended remarkably well, and we
were prepared to start Day 2 with an equally remarkable agenda. Even though
there are no beauty spa services, massages, or swimming pools inside the cruise
ship, the cruise is more than sufficient, especially since they offer an unbelievable brunch buffet! Asian appetite will turn
into a Caucasian-sized stomach because the food’s so good!

We were asked to take a day boat
for exploring Ba Ham Lake, for another round of kayaking and tunnel experience.
Ba Ham Lake is actually located in the
southwest of Halong Bay, 25 kilometers far from Bai Chay Tourist Wharf.
Comprising of three round pits linked with each other by a narrow and dark
tunnel, we were asked to ride this local boat, and then the local sampan took us to and fro. Slowly sailing through the tunnel, with the early morning
sun gradually shining through the shallow waters, we had the chance see the
rocks very close. Once we passed inside the tunnel, we saw various stalactites in
strange shapes hung down from the ceiling. It turned very quiet and the only
noises you’ll be hearing are from the waters and the cries from the children
who were scared of the dark. As for me and my troop, we were the crazy Asian
monkeys who didn’t pay too much attention on the golden monkeys, flying
squirrels, and butterflies that apparently could be seen maybe around and
outside the tunnel.
Whilst cruising back to the quay
side, we started to prepare for the check-out procedures in an unrushed manner.
I think this is really excellent, because it
gives the passengers a chance to really prepare and not be too stressed out at
the very last minute. We were politely asked to place our things outside
our rooms, and to start setting out our bills, if any. They accept cash
(Vietnamese Dong, and US dollars), as well as credit card, so there should not
be a problem with anything. Furthermore, we were asked to fill out a feedback
form so that they can improve on their overall Maya Cruise experience. As a
corporate bloke, I do believe that this tiny gesture will be a huge plus for
the Maya Cruises in the long term if they will be able to capture all the
feedback constructively and implement them accordingly.

All our eyes started to feel quiet as we return to the quay side in the south of the bay to do our final disembarkation. There’s something about the relaxing music inside the cruise ship, coupled with the postcard panorama around the bay, that makes you feel so very relaxed and extremely pensive of all the good things in life that you have right now : a.k.a. the Maya cruises tour experience. It’s fantastic, really.
With just a
couple minutes past 12:00 noon, we arrived at the Got port and gave our happy
good byes to everyone we met in the cruise. It’s formally the end of the
program, and we drove back to Hanoi city to get dropped-off in our hotel. Will
definitely recommend this to anyone planning to visit Hanoi and would love to
do this again in the future! Great
work, Maya Cruises!
