Cafe Katzung: The Most Iconic Local Cafe in Innsbruck, Austria

My black book of the all-time favourite café bucket list you should search for will always include Innsbruck’s Cafe Katzung as one of the top experiences. This perfect embodiment of old countryside café charm is universally likeable and never fails to attract faithful following from visitors, locals, and connoisseurs. After walking around the streets of Innsbruck, I found this Goldenes Dachl–facing terrace place that was recommended by two local friends.

The sweet yet faint homemade cakes and ice cream scents can be sensed from the entrance of the café. All-day breakfasts, toasted sandwiches, and wholesome soups are ubiquitous and inviting. Just by seeing the life and aliveness of this particular place, you would instantly argue that this is the best place in the old town for coffee and sweets.
Food-wise, their menu proves that you don’t need fancy or extraordinarily eye-catching choices to impress a crowd. Sometimes, all you need is a wide selection of fresh food choices to enjoy. Perhaps some nice coffee, or lunch food? Or Lemoncello Torte and Marillen Sandkuchen? It’s a popular, bustling place and that includes their food.

Customer service wise, no surprise here - Cafe Katzung’s hospitality is A+. Comfy, friendly, and brilliant people, just like their coffee. A very fine place, indeed! It’s no wonder that they have a lot of partners like the Café Bar Restaurant Dengg, Alpenhof Hintertux, and Hotel Post Lermoos, to name a few. Anyone would be lucky enough to be partners with the Katzung café, in my opinion.
I’d have to say that this is most likely the most iconic traditional café resto style place that everyone aspires to get a seat in and try out. Needless to say, the welcoming atmosphere reminds you of how lovely Innsbruck truly is, and that you would want to go back and spend more time in this beautiful city, all thanks to the assurance that Café Katzung provides. Do you want to visit this café today, if so (lucky you), can I tag along?
