A Sendoff to the Coldest and Coolest Bestseller Year
We meet again, New Year. It feels like yesterday, when I idly waved my 2016 year review and greeted New Year with a different spin, and now it’s officially 2-0-1-7 baby!
There’s this powerfully exciting mood about 2017 that I cannot word out just yet. Perhaps, it is because of all the yuletide celebrations and merriments that happened as the year was about to end, or perhaps it is because of the poignant and peaceful adversities that happened as the year went by --- perhaps, it was a bit of both.
Bowdy wandered around 2016 with lots of opportunities and luck, both on the good and bad side of things. 2016 has proven that if life wants to surprise you in BIG and BOLD ways, it can do so with much conviction and charisma… and without any warning, it can surprise you like a crazy winter sonata: a COLD COLD COLD frozen-barren world such as the one here, if I may say so. Big-bold-ways that will leave your ultimate planning-oriented mind and action-driven heart downright dumbfounded.
But during those dumb and unfounded moments that made me laugh out loud, I squeezed the hints and answers through the travels and experiences I’ve rendezvoused with. From receiving answers from the Northern Lights, Iceland, to seeking peace from the perfect rainbows of Bhutan, and to offering gratitude to the perfect snow-capped mountains of Japan, I have participated with life through my big bold (and seemingly dumb and cold) ways.
How was your 2016? Did it turn out to be as big and as bold as you (un)wanted it to? I hope the blog post for the year that passed have inspired you in ways that surprised you – be it travel, personal, or anything else. I hope that we can both be courageous enough actively anticipate and welcome whatever 2017 will bring to the table, because 2016 has been a good training ground for that.
Bring in the blizzards and snowflakes, let’s do this 2017!
