Alexanderplatz, Berlin: This Is The Best Place to Check Out At Night

Alexanderplatz, Berlin
Berliners refer to this place as Alex – this outsized public square in the central Mitte district of Berlin also happens to be a transport hub and a cultural mecca for everyone in Berlin, Germany. At daytime, it’s ignited with wide open doors from different shopping centers around the area. At nighttime, it’s illuminated with all street performers, yuppies, foodies, and nightlife watchers. We managed to hang around this place so many times during our stay in Germany; I could see myself hanging around in Alex with my homies, if I live in Berlin right now. Yeah, there are the cluster of gangsters that you can find here too.

What’s really nice about this place that not only is it accessible to most of the places in Berlin, whether touristy or holes in the wall, there are many places of interest that could be seen from this area alone: the World clock, Fernsehturm, Alexanderhaus, Bahnhof Alexanderplatz, and Neptunbrunnen.

Morning time is not as spectacular as a night time visit. At night, surprisingly, it’s relatively less crowded, but more packed with “real life local culture affairs”. For instance, the nights I was here, I saw a lot of drunken and ostentatious bachelor and bachelorette groups with crazy costumes. Haha! Also happen to see a lot of family locals with old kids hanging around here, checking out the night markets and just walking around. Yes, better at night!
