St Fagans in Cardiff, Wales – This is How One of Europe’s Leading Open-Air Museums Looks Like

St. Fagans National History Museum in Cardiff, Wales
Every local in Wales would
recommend visiting the St Fagans National History Museum in Cardiff, Wales in a heartbeat. And the interesting
thing about this is that it doesn’t sound, look, or feel like a museum at all.
It’s one of those places you could easily mistake as your house in your past
Celtic life. It’s Wales’ most admired heritage attraction and I couldn’t agree
more.

The St Fagans has been opened to the public since November 1948. It’s a
musuem, a castle, and a garden, which is also in fact a late 16th-century manor
house donated to the people of Wales by the Earl of Plymouth. The place is one
of United Kingdom’s top ten free recommended attractions by non-other than Trip
Advisor, and it sure deserves the spot it has on the list. Throughout the year, St Fagans holds traditional festivals, music and
dance events, and everything Welsh-inspired. Imagine a lovely place that can
pack a punch and hold juggernaut city event? St Fagans is all for that.

What will really blow your minds out is the beautiful garden displays
surrounding the Castle. It includes a 1902 Italian garden, a thyme garden, fish
ponds, fountains, a mulberry grove, vinery and an exquisite Rosery adding the
right storybook kind of illustration to the grounds. You can just stitch yourself to the grounds and forget all the problems
in the world. Spellbinding, yes?
This place is recommended for high class, slow paced, senior friendly
kind of all day escapade. It’s a unique kind of culture emersion, one that the
Queen of England and the Duke of the forgotten past would be so fond of. If
you’re an old soul, like me sometimes, this is a good place to check out from
your bucket list.
