The Cloth Ear: The BEST Bar Service You’ll Find in Belfast, Northern Ireland

The Cloth Ear, Merchant Hotel – Belfast, Northern Ireland
Did you hear that? That is not only the sound of
signature Irish beers clunking with each other, that is the sound of
night out bar brilliance!

The Cloth Ear in Belfast, Northern Ireland, is this
impeccable night out gastrobar place that offers stratospheric level of
customer service that I haven’t seen elsewhere. It’s hard to imagine a hotel’s
public bar to be as this textbook perfect. The Merchant Hotel did a great great
job in coming up with this ideal environment to relax and enjoy in style. The Cloth Ear is this synthesis of Irish style – modern, traditional, and original designs. A mesh of vintage and antique and a lot of wooden messes. From moose to dear heads, and classic 1930s-50s sheet music, it’s that throwback and must-comeback kind of bar place for anyone visiting Northern Ireland.

The food being served here, whether a-la-cart, or wine list, are homemade favorites, handpicked to make the whole Cloth Ear experience an intrinsically comforting one. They offer to start or to share types of food fares, smokehouse choices, meats, hanging skewers, sea foods, vegetables, side orders, and desserts. Even if it’s labeled for one, it sure looks like it is good to share.
Customer service here is excellent, period. It’s the kind that you can only find in five star restaurants, business class plane trips, and high profile events, but the thing is, it also is that kind of comfortable hey-you’re-my-buddy kind of friendliness. You’re SURE to make friends with the baristas, chefs, and waiters here, and everyone is this one big giant happy Cloth Ear family!
This is the kind of bar place that you can only superficially imagine in your dreams, and The Cloth Ear bar make it sound like it’s dumb of us to assume there’s no such thing because they exist. Did you hear that? That’s the sound of your mind saying that you need to invite me and we need to go here soon.
