The Assembly Ground, Specialty Coffee, Brunch & Dinner, Craft Beers

The 64-seater Assembly Ground artisan café, located at The Cathay youth shopping mall, is the extension of The Assembly Store, a multi-label one-stop-shop that offers the conceptual selection of clothing, accessories and collectibles. Inspired by their time and roots in Melbourne, Australia, the owners behind The Assembly Store and Benjamin Baker decided to come up with a casual café that offers coffee blends from the best local coffee roasters in Singapore – the official “assembly ground” for good coffee. Seems like a lot to live up to, yes?

Same as The Assembly Store, the The Assembly Ground can be found inside The Cathay Mall, just along the Handy Road. The Assembly Store is just beside the café. Could easily spot everything in life that’s cool: from bags, watches, socks, shoes, gadget sleeves, and gentlemen’s outfitters. The Assembly Ground café compliments the space with nice atmosphere. A big area inside with effortless hipster quality in its consistency and impression; like a limited edition top ten hipster cafes of all time kind of magazine image. Best time to go is during brunch and mid-dinner times so as the place is packed with Assembly enthusiasts.

The Assembly Ground is the ultimate go-to place for that attentive evening meet ups that require time and effort to concentrate, not only to the person in front of you, but also to the food and coffee right next to you. One of the most dapper looking cafes you’ll ever find in this side of Singapore. The chocolate taste in the café mocha in particular carries into a gently drying finish in every sip. Must try: The Assembly Brunch, The Assembly Wagyu Burger, Porcini Cream, Cafe Mocha

The Assembly Ground is not only good for specialty coffee’s sake, but certainly is a must try place for brunch, dinner, and subtle happy hour spot too. It seems to have a lot to live up to, and it sure finds a way to do so. Now, if only there are more cafe places like this one hmm… Recommended for: school pre-night out, special Thursday afternoons, groupies, solo plugs.
