St. George's Market, Northern Ireland: Where The Sunday Afternoon Party’s At

St George's Market, Northern Ireland
St George's Market in Belfast, Northern Ireland is the last known
surviving Victorian covered market. By
Victorian covered, it means
that it’s a historic market with stalls and shops in a large covered Victorian
inspired structure.

This market was built in three phases between 1890 and
1896; but before that, St George's Market was an open market - a slaughterhouse
and a meat market. Right now though, it’s quite difficult not to notice the St
George's Market - it’s where the Sunday
afternoon party’s at!

As soon as the rain
picked up its pace and decided to water down Northern Ireland’s capital, caught
ourselves running towards what seemed to be a “party scene” that looks like a warehouse
type of structure. Once inside the place, that’s when the scene started to party.
Belfast is rocking with artists, and entrepreneurs, and friendly friends from
all walks of life! It’s humongous, with hipster and happy as its theme. It holds so many forms of social gatherings -from food festivals, art initiatives, exhibitions, charity launches, fashion shoots and live music events. On a Sunday afternoon, it could be all of the above in one go. What I find remarkable is the fact that the place is rocking with incredible hospitality. Everyone and everything seems to be accommodating. People would chat up with you like a good-humored uncle; you’d walk around and feel at home. Lots of out of the ordinary trinkets and talents to see – from paintings, to displays, and all that artisan others.
Personal favorite is that this place offers one of the best coffees I’ve tasted in the whole of Belfast. Walking around while sipping a hot cup of joe, ahhhhh the Belfast life is just something to look forward to when you’re here inside the St. George’s Market. Could anyone help recommend another good coffee place in Belfast that could rival to the one I found here?
