Retrolicious 2015 Concert: The Boys Are Back - Celebrating a Night of 80s and 90s Hits

Retrolicious 2015 Singapore: Color Me Badd, Tommy Page, and All-4-One
Thanks
to Matthew for the concert invite!
The greatest throwback songs of the 80s and
90s are upon us all. Retrolicious, do the
funk! Ever since Retrolicious serenaded
Singapore back in 2010, it has since then transformed the music landscape into
this we-want-classics kind of attitude every year. Old school is cool. Reunion
rocks. Classics showdown. Who’s excited,
raise your wigs?

Retrolicious
has brought casette tape songs into full life, bringing big music wishlisters
like (2010) Debbie Gibson, Johnny Hates Jazz, Rick Astley, (2011) Belinda
Carlisle, Bananarama, The Human League, (2012) Wang Chung, Tiffany, Howard
Jones, Alphaville, (2013) Belinda Carlisle, Bananarama, Rick Astley. Now 2015, Retrolicious
returned with an even stronger lineup: Color
Me Badd, Tommy Page, and All-4-One. Now I don’t know
about you, but I think this is a perfect chance to turn back time, live and
relive the past, no regrets.

The iconic
hilltop landmark, Fort Canning Park, has set the right note and tone for this year’s
Retrolicious concert. Its sprawling area and heritage-like structures made the
throwbackfest a clear model of awesome. Bright lights, sweet sounds, huge
tents, VIP sections. The place was like a 100th year high school
grand reunion. Everyone’s acting a little slim-shaddy: one minute uncool –
other second – cool kid represent.

The 3,000+ of
classic-wooing crowd sang their hearts out to almost every tune that was played
by the artists. You’d see folks standing up, getting cozy, dancing around, raising
hands, doing all sorts of things and having a really great time. Everyone
relished in the feeling of the tremendous throwback video showed during that
night, so much history, so much favorites. The music video documentary piece of
perfection was one of the highlights. Whoever
you are, can I borrow your genius? Great job for coming up with that video!

Color Me Badd, Tommy Page, and
All-4-One took over the stage like the big pros that they are, sang their
hearts out, refueled their soulful energies from the rousing crowd. No one
could stop singing to every song and lyric that came out from the stage. Just like how Color Me Badd sang it “What
more could a man ask for, what more could I ask for” – the night was crazzzzzzzzy Badd…ass!

Retrolicious 2015 Singapore had this certain keepsake for all the right reasons. It brought out the universal love for 80s and 90s music in everyone, fun side, high school kind of spirit and all. Now, 2016? this (un)cool kid can’t wait.
