In Photos: Harry Potter Studio in London, England
Though it’s a weekday, this’ll be a long blog
post with lots of wicked pictures of Harry Potter and the rest
of Hogwarts, so grab your butter beers
and cauldron cakes to keep you company. Channeling some inner playwright skills
(ala JK Rowling)
in coming up with this seven-book-series-long blogpost about Harry Potter
Studios in London, England. Haha!
As she said, “No story lives unless
someone wants to listen” – so listen up with your eyes, yes?
Growing up in the 90s as a kid, no one in the entire planet has gotten free from not being engrossed in the Harry Potter series. Even kids in Africa know a thing or two about Harry Potter, even Quidditch. No one’s that cool or that naïve not to get caught up with the idea of he-who-must-not-be-named, or the idea of Bertie Bott’s Every Flavor Beans, or much more when Emma Watson played the role of Hermione Granger, I rest my case.

It’s been part of every kid’s childhood, and it’s like going to a UNESCO World Heritage
Site for Potterhead cohorts - to be able to see to the first and original
Harry Potter Studio in Leavesden, England. Harry Potter trivia: did you
know the idea behind the story came to JK Rowling when she was sitting on a
delayed train from Manchester to London? Her mind popped a young boy who learns
that he is a wizard and begins attending wizard school. True story. So from pen to production to studio tour, I
guarantee you that OUR measly imaginations about how Harry Potter should and
could be like in real life would deceive us when it comes to Harry Potter
production. The ones that are found in Leavesden are out of this (muggle)
world cool!

You can original and life size props of
costumes, rooms, wands, and goblets. You’ll see the photos of the different
animal actors, and of green rooms, and of common rooms. The place starts of with the cupboard under the stairs the school hall
then the rest of the magic stuff.
There are
mini activity areas where you can do a wizarding match with Death Eaters, or get your picture
published on the Portrait Walls. Especially liked the part where you could see
Privet Drive, Hogwarts, and Hogsmeade! Found myself wanting to reread all the
seven books once again! Calling all production and movie makers out there,
I know there are Sherlock Holmes, Dr. Who galleries and museums similar to this
- but if only you guys could come up with a Star Wars Studio, or a Back to the
Future one, or Avengers, all the saving grace kind of experience for humanity’s
sake will be enjoyed for eternity - just like the Harry Potter
Studio London.
