Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters, Upper Thomson Road

Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters, Upp Thomson Rd
Out with the OZ Specialty Coffee, and in with the new Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters. No longer will you find the OZ Specialty
Coffee out and open, which is a bummer, especially if you’ve travelled from far
off west just to reach Thomson Road, and it’s raining so hard, and you’re soaking wet like you came
out of surfing lessons for no reason at all. #TrueStory But, what you will find is this hugely white corner unit coffee café place that has replaced and infused OZ into it: the Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters.

This is one of the easiest coffee shops to
spot in this area, because it’s also one of the most spacious you will find.
It’s where the Liquid Kitchen used to be. About 10 minutes away from the Marymount MRT station, and it’s just at
the direct opposite of the Shell Station. If that’s not obvious enough, you can find the
Fat Boys Burgers beside it, Music Workshop beside it, Yew Lian Park Estate along
it, and Jln Pelatina signage in front of it. Very easy to find, yes. It’s also along the long stretch of the quaint
cafes around this area, such as the Habitat Coffee and One Man Coffee. Best time to go is during brunch hours or
early dinner time, when the place is most active.
The name “Pacamara” came from El Salvadorean Pacamara Arabica coffee bean. You didn’t exactly need to know that, but it sounds interesting to tell, yes. The Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters is nothing near any El Salvadorean themed café, nor is it quaint and compressed. It’s a wide, spacious café, that kinda reminds me of a clinical lab or showroom, maybe because of the almost all white and gray bleached theme.

They’ve got wall-to-wall displays of coffee
trinkets, like dual drippers, caffee uno, white wave filters, teflon milk
pitchers; plus, blocks of refrigerators full of sodas, drinks, to choose from. This part I liked most, because not only is it
a coffee roasting place, it can also transform into this all around hangout
lab, whichever people prefers it to be.
I never give a good coffee review, cos I
always think that they are all the same – all good (why bother with the not
so), but there are of course, exceptions, wherein when you taste it, you see
the distinctiveness beyond belief. For the Pacamara Coffee, we tried their
intense, juicy, massively complex coffee. Reminiscent of Oz Coffees, yes. And
good thing, we also tried their variety of sodas, which are big, full, and
kinda syrupy mouthfeel. Must try: craft beers, saison ipa, porters, fruit beers
– for a change but coffee is still thy first
choice.
So many top new café in Singapore lists, so many best cafes in Singapore inventories out there, so it’s impossible not to find the Pacamara Boutique Coffee Roasters in one of the listings. They’ve got the space, the menu, the coffee, the drinks, and the atmosphere that could make any café hopping in Singapore experience an enjoyable one.
