The Alley Café, Outram Park

The Alley Café, Outram Park
We meet again, fellow café runners, this time
in an alley. The Alley of alleys – The Alley Café in Outram Park. It’s
the magazine kind of hipster café that everyone would be dreaming about, and
there’s something so special and so comforting about this coffee shop that
guarantees more than one visit.

The easiest and most convenient way is of
course via the MRT, Northeast and North-South Line, Outram Park Station (Exit H). From the outside, you can’t easily
distinguish it because it’s not the typical café place with lots of people
sitting outside, or the crowded street side were everyone is everywhere. The
key take away to find it: the minimalist signage that looks like it came from a
café place somewhere old school. Works for me!

Couples and soloist bookworms seem to frequent
this place so much. There’s a place for everyone and the café gives these folks
freedom to enjoy really good coffee, desserts, and boss nova kind of music.
You’ll see Christmas lights mixed with afternoon lights, very special looking. The
coffee has strong coffee taste, c/o their SAB Coffee Machine from Italy. Must try: Sawadee-chicks (Buffalo Wings
with an Asian twist), The Alley Half Pounder, Red Velvet, and Signature Hot
Mocha.
Hipster cafes in Singapore work to their advantage, and the Alley café gives a clear example of this. It’s hipster meets heritage, vintage meets modern. The place is recommended for solo sessions, coffee dates, and local-foreign meet ups that require long hours of chatting. Gone are the days when meeting someone in the alley sounds creepy. Let’s meet in The Alley, yes?
