Jeneris by Ahren Cafe, NU Sentral - Kuala Lumpur
The Jeneris
by Ahren Café at NU Sentral in Kuala Lumpur is another
surprise coffee place favorite. Surprise because everything about this is
relatively new to the KL café hopping
scene – the NU Sentral Shopping Mall is new, the café place is new, the
food choice variants are new – even the crowd looks new – lots of expats,
coffee budding experts, and us one day travelers you can see hanging around
this coffee place. Much more than the locals themselves, when we visited. So
should we pay a visit? I’ve got an old answer for you – yes.

Just found at one of the busiest stations
known to the entire city, KL Sentral Station, it’s just
beside Auntie Anne’s, and just right after
the escalator entrance from the train-gateway side of the NU Sentral Shopping
Mall. A good two-minute walk from train station. Be here during after
office or during weekends when the space is somewhat free and all that’s left
are loyal customers with their mac laptops and ideas all over the place.

The Jeneris by Ahren Café is all about free
space and cool finished walls. The imposing red army inspired roof-like walls,
and black metal pillars says that the Ahren Café must be a mannish café. They
have coffee and tea, combo meals, teatime specials, cakes, and pastries. Must try: Salted Caramel Café Latte,
Speculoos Café Latte and their Yin-Yong Café Latte. All are not too sweet,
but very tasty.
If you’re looking for a surprise café place that’s in a commercial place but still get the privilege of being surprised by their signature food and coffee, then hang out at the Jeneris by Ahren Café. It’s the place for quick spontaneous stopovers with your laptop and for some weekend afternoon chill with groupies.
