Coffee DooRoo, Bukchon-dong

Coffee DooRoo: Hand-dripped Coffee in Bukchon-dong, Seoul
Seoul’s coffee culture is an increasing landscape of quality coffee beans, sweet baristas, and smooth pours. One of the best coffee shops in Seoul that call the shots is the café DooRoo. The artist-musician owner, Mr. Cha, got inspired by the idea of Seoul’s Bukchon-dong, which is all about traditional houses and small shops – it’s a place for day dreamers and coffee enthusiasts. True enough, the DooRoo café is a place for that.

Visiting the Buckchon Traditional Hanok Village in Seoul, you can easily enjoy a good organic cup of coffee from DooRoo’s. It’s just at the entrance of the village and you can spend a few hours here before walking around the neighborhood. Best time to go here is during daily afternoons, when it’s packed with locals all enjoying this creative mouthful amidst the traditional setting.

What I like most about this café is the Coffee bean bag cutouts from all over the world coating its walls and seeing all the stacks of classical creative such as music magazines, books, and coffee gadgets. The atmosphere is quite unique from all the hipster and old school cafes I am accustomed to. But that’s not even the best part though – the highlight here is, yes you got that right – the coffee itself. It has this unassuming yet long-lasting roast taste that keeps you all inspired. Locals are prevalent here, but so are the travelers and tourists from all over the world – whether coffee enthusiasts or Y.O.L.O relaxed chasers. It’s a good place for chill sessions, dates, quiet alone time, and small group gatherings with family and friends. My caffeinated blood is calling for some hand-dripped coffee from DooRoo’s right now – yes!
