Outside the Vatican Museums: What to Do and See
The Musei
Vaticani is probably the most visited museum in the whole of Rome, it really is important to budget your
time and travel when visiting this place. The Vatican Museums houses
a collection built up by the Roman Catholic Church throughout time, including
some of the most renowned classical sculptures and most important masterpieces
of Renaissance art. Take note, it’s a museum with an S, cos has a Sculpture Museum,
Historical Museum, and the Pinacoteca Vaticana, which is an art gallery for
short. #SoundsCoolerInItalian.
One thing is to get overwhelmed by the size of
the art and masterpiece over her, but it’s another thing to get lost and not
maximize the whole visit. And of course, we won’t want that to happen, do we?
So, I think it’s best to start off outside the museum itself where there are a
lot of happenings on its own. It’s like being in a museum but al-fresco style.
From the outside courtyard area of the Vatican Museums towards
the Braccio Nuovo of the Museo Chiaramonti, you’ll see this huge globe-like art
or the Sphere within Sphere, and just at the backdrop of the whole area, you
can see the tip of St.
Peter’s Basilica. Worth to spend at least an hour or two just chilling and people
watching around this place.
There are a lot of favorite-worthy things in Rome, but I’d have to say this is one of the
few good ones you’ll remember. I sure know I did. Enough talking for now, on to
the pictures below – enjoy!
