Mean Bean & Wicked Grind at the Plaza

Mean Bean & Wicked Grind Café in Bugis
The Mean Bean & Wicked
Grind at the Plaza in Bugis
area is quaint and quirky just like its spirited 23 year old owner, Kimberley Yeo. Starting
young and chasing your dreams is always a good backstory and just being in this
café makes you enjoy the palpable inspiration and dream even more. The café
culture here in Singapore
sure is getting more and more stimulating, especially with a coffee shop like
the Mean Bean & Wicked Grind.

The Mean Bean & Wicked Grind is tucked inside
the Plaza, a not so popular shopping mall, but still packed with good finds.
It’s a good fifteen minutes of walking from the nearest MRT, Bugis.
The best time to go here is during unlikely hours of the afternoon during
weekdays so as not to go with the crowd. The place is petite and can fit only a
couple of small groups. If you go during obvious hours, you would probably be
competing with couples who are vying for the next seat available.

Everything about this coffee place reeks of
passion and it’s one of the best evident things about this place. The place is
almost-vintage looking, with nice lighting and big coffee and dessert
highlights. From cupcakes, to cakes, to red velvets, and salted caramel, even
tarts. Their Sea
Salted Caramel Shortbread is a must try. Their coffee – nice latte art,
vibrant taste, gentle but crisply after-taste. Indeed, a good compliment to
their desserts.
You can see Kimberley single-handedly running around the place, all smiles and all that and she should be. There’s so much good-wickedness that you can take away from this café and one of those quaint cafes worth coming back for, even if you have to wait for an available seat. The coffee place is good for small study sessions, hidden chill and dates. It’s a café to bookmark when in Bugis.
