One Man Coffee, Thomson

One Man Coffee in Thomson
Clearly, there’s something about the One Man Coffee in Thomson that yells “coffee must go”. Logo alone will make you want to go, yes? Clever, right? Wait till you try their coffee favorites.
Though it’s one of the newest kids on the block, it also is one of the best new quality café additions to the ever-growing café culture here in Singapore. With inspirations from their barista’s Melbourne café stint, they sure made something of significant value to all the café hoppers who would want another welcome change in their coffees.

Cab drivers and bus drivers alike would know that the Thomson area are busy areas for the younger generation given how much coffee scene can be found here. Bus stops and taxi stands are overflowing of caffeine-high “overgrown children”. So even if the area is not easily accessible via its nearest MRT, one bus or cab ride away would still be okay, because you sure won’t get lost – just look for the crowd. The One Man Coffee café is distinctive enough to find because it shares the same premises as Crust Gourmet Pizza Bar.

The café space may seem to be a problem at first, because there are so many people who’d like to try their extra-excellent coffee; but the good thing about it – everything else compensates for this minor thing. The baristas here are one of the most “coffee cultured” extroverts you’ll ever meet. Even when you’re just about to decide your coffee order, they would chivalrously come to the rescue and give you a few more winning options.

Food options and coffee choices here are indeed rousing. If you’re a fan of not too watery kind of coffee, then this one is definitely for you. The one I got was not too chocolate-sweet, but certainly not too nasty bitter. It offered all the right things you would want in a coffee – even the coffee art’s good. It’s no wonder there are a lot of couples, yuppies, and locals flocking this place and this just proves how Singaporeans are really good at knowing what good coffee is all about. The place is good for quick coffee-break dates, short-and-sweet gatherings, and some afternoon alfresco tasks. You would want to come back here to have more good coffee recommendations that are actually worth your while.
