Is Your IAmsterdam Experience Good Enough?

Show of hands, what’s the number one thing you consider important when travelling?

A lot of right answers, yes. Thought so too.

But if you think about it, it simmers down to that personal gratifying experience you can get out of travel. Whatever the place may be, it will always have that memorable experience you will take with you. No matter how simple, small, big, or grand, it’s that experience you remember that will matter in the long run.

So how do you build a good enough experience worth remembering?

Dunno. Depends, maybe. But that’s the gratifying thing about travelling – you get to discover “the experience”, as you go along. You get to understand and identify with it, as you experience.

Wow, that was a long yada yada, for this Iamsterdam question. Hah.

Pardon ‘cos you have to understand, if you’ve been traveling to places and if you’ve had more than a mouthful of experiences to digest, you’re bound to spit it out some questions. And you seek and find the answers. Yes, that’s Amsterdam, Netherlands for me. It’s about stepping back and finding the answers as to what’s the intrinsic value from these travels we all chase.

Iamsterdam is a defining moment, because it gave some refreshing perspective on traveling experiences. Seeing all the different people from different continents, from different races, from different ages - doing random poses, stunts, and wacky tactics with the letters I-A-M-S-T-E-R-D-A-M is an eye opener. Seeing that even some random letters put into words can bring so much joy and experience to people. How can such modest letters and a seemingly “no experience” kind of place create so much creativity and joy for people? You can see that they give all the physical and emotional energy to relish the place.

It shows that even in traveling, experiences don’t have to be extra expensive, ultra unique, or solely simple. Experiences have to speak to you in ways that you can understand and appreciate. Experiences that you can share and that you can gain as you travel more. And with this, I hope you find your Iamsterdam experience somewhere down your travel path – so that you’ll realize and appreciate that even the simplest of things are good enough experiences.
