Finding More Words for Paris
This is what I get when I say yes to all the plans for my first official work week this month - I skip blogging a few days for non-work hangovers. I was just saying a while ago that Wednesday’s the best day of every week, and here I am, a couple of days late, completely missing out on the rest of the week. Allow me to start this week with a new travel adventure then: Paris, France.
Yes, Paris. Paris has always been and will always be the “it” city amongst the rest of the standout cities in the World. One's lifetime travel, food, adventure bucket list would not be legit without Paris in it. See the Eiffel Tower, visit Mona Lisa, swing by Notre Dame, speak French with a French, this and that and all else. It's always the perennial standard of one's achievement when it comes seeing and experiencing the rest of the world. It has become so glorified, so timeless, and so overhyped to the point that it's almost next to impossible to not WANT this spectacular city BAD ENOUGH. It's almost a rarity to find one’s own feelings and understanding of Paris, because all has been said about this city.
So when it was my time to visit Paris for the very first time, I didn't have anything else other than an open sense of wonder. No expectation, no wanting, no monumental plans. Nothing. No big researches done about the place on the side, no must haves, must wants, must experiences. Only bits and pieces of ideas on what to do, but not as well prepared as the other European countries we were visiting. I'm just hopeful that its reputation is true. I’m hopeful that my senses and Paris’ magic will do their own marriage of moments together.
True enough, so much has been said about Paris. But, that doesn’t mean that there’s no room for some more. So much renaissance and romanticism found in this city – what’s not to like? So much life, history, and culture, both past and present. There’s always a new breath of admiration, fulfillment and desire for Paris. Won’t bombard you with more words about how huge, in all aspects, this city is anymore. Everything is better experienced for real, I guarantee you that. For now, let me invite you to join me this month, as I take you into a run-through of what you can experience instead. I’ll let you enjoy some of favorite snapshots truly one of a kind city.
