Singapore Food Finds: Rebelling through Fat Boy's Burgers
Rebelling through Fat Boy's - The Burger Bar
One of the best things about being in thy 20s is the fact that rebelling
is still a thing once in a while. Yes, being the archetypal 21st century
bloke that I think I am, I still rebel on food sometimes. Doc said I am
starting to be allergic to bread and the best rebelliousness for such theory is
going all extremist on bread choice: FAT
BOY’S BURGERS. Yes. Rebelling through burgers is just the boldest, and
most unhealthy form of utter satisfaction and I owe it to the yuletide season
for giving a valid excuse for such awesome form of food rebellion. In this
case, worth it? A BIG FAT YES to that.
Slowly but surely, the Fat Boy’s Burgers
are saturating the whole burger scene here in Singapore. In just a couple
of months, they went from one store to more than a few across the whole city,
bringing fat and fulfillment to every rebellious burger lover in this city. The
one in Pasir
Panjang is particularly strategic, just a few steps away from the MRT
station and just right in front of the bus stop. The best time to go is during
late afternoons to late evenings where everything transforms into a
swagger-filled burger bar.
There’s something about black, red, and white that just automatically
translates to rebelliousness and it’s the kind that can make a person go “oh
yeah, let’s rebel”. Maybe because tough watches use these types of
colors? Or maybe because most baddass guards and cops use these too? But, still
- the place looks like a cool modern soldierly food camp. Macho and military. A
big bald bouncer guy plastered on the wall looks directly at everyone who would
order anything other than burgers. The place is not for the weak-hearted and
healthy-options kind of food; it is for all out good fatty burgers. I don’t
even know how to start explaining how wickedly delicious their burgers are.
From the ultra tasty burger buns, down to the packed and juicy burger patty and
signature sauce, the whole fat burger concept is just THE
ultimate burger of burgers. The fattier the better is the way burgers
should go. Throw in some milk shake and you know there’s no turning back. Oh
yeah, let’s rebel.
After finishing my Wimpy Burger, which is the single version of their legendary Fat Basterd burger, I considered myself a new and improved man. No amount of allergy or doctor’s prescription can ever stop breads and burgers. Fat Boy’s burgers are the best choice for these types of unadulterated picks, still guaranteed to reap joyful results – if you’re lucky like me, your gut might even show how lucky it feels. More fat, and more fulfilled.
